Thirty-five yachts are now confirmed for the in-water display. Amongst them are some of the biggest yachts ever to grace PIMEX. The 103 ft Mangusta will be the largest yacht on display and officially qualifies as a Superyacht. The Ferretti 881 and two of the latest Pershings at 80ft and 72ft will also be in the water. Many other top-of-class yachts will be in attendance, and for the first time in Asia Windy Boats will be represented by their 58ft Zephyros design.
Now in its seventh year, PIMEX 2010 is an annual marine and lifestyle exhibition held at the Royal Phuket Marina Exhibition and Conference Center in Phuket. With 2,500 sq metres of air-conditioned space adjacent to the marina basin, PIMEX boasts the largest in-water display of any exhibition in the region - over 40 yachts. The event is South East Asia’s most effective showcase for boating and marine lifestyle and leisure. Several Phuket-based property and residential marina projects will also be exhibiting their top-quality offerings.
An exciting new development for 2010 is the introduction of a series of seminars that combine international experts on maritime security with technical experts in their fields. Organized by the Human Development Forum Foundation (HDFF), the Phuket Maritime Forum will facilitate discussions on new perspectives and advancements in policy and technology surrounding harbor security, archipelago states security, security of sea lanes, and new sustainable technologies.
The exhibition and seminars will take place alongside the boardwalk of Royal Phuket Marina. With four restaurants overlooking the marina the beautifully relaxed atmosphere offers a great day out for families, those curious about the marine lifestyle, and of course hard-core boat junkies.
